“Roaring into Chinese new year”

“To keep over 200 children interested for 90 minutes was quite a feat but you maintained this by the wonderful variety of your programme. The way that you introduced the elements of music explaining in very simple terms, concepts like harmony and rhythm was particularly pleasing...”

     - Mr J. Maskell (Head Teacher, Abbotswood Junior School)

“Your concert has caused a huge stir throughout the school. Quite apart from the educational value, the balance that you established between fine musicianship teacher and entertainment was just what we wanted... You have achieved more in an afternoon than we would normally expect in half a term and the only question now is ‘When are you coming back?’”

     - Mr K. Morgan (Director of Music, Colston Collegiate School)

“ It was wonderful to be able to enjoy the visit of someone with such expertise and enthusiasm for their subject. The children were mesmerised by the range of percussion instruments you brought and that they were active participants in the visit... We are all hoping that your visit could become a yearly feature. Thank you for a thoroughly interesting, informative, and fun-filled hour.”

     - Mrs S. Mears (Head Teacher, Cabot Primary School)

“Dear Andy, thank you so much for coming in. It was great fun. I really enjoyed it. I loved the different sounds of the drum and I never knew the shakers were called Haka, Hakas! The concert was brill, everyone loved it! It also gave a chance for everyone to learn, but have fun as well! Thank you again!”

     - Catriona Bunting (Primary School Pupil, St Helens School)

“I don’t think that I can ever remember so many children talking so excitedly about an activity”

     - Mrs J. Windram (Head Teacher, St. Mary Bourne County                                                              Junior & Infant School)

“The children still talk about the effects you demonstrated...they have obviously been inspired - they were captivated!”

     - Mr Rhys-Davies (Head Teacher, Flax Bourton School)

“The day heightened the children’s interest in music and helped put the National Curriculum in perspective”

     - Mrs D. Brice (Head Teacher, Whimple C.P. School)

“ Dear Andy, Thank you very much for the marvellous Gamelan workshop you directed at Berkhampstead. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and the whole day was a success. I would like to add a personal thank you for the way you taught and directed our pupils - entirely calm, controlled and appropriate. We would be keen to see you Indian instrumental workshop so please let us know when it is ready to roll! Yours sincerely”

     - Mrs P. Mitchell (Head of Music, Berkhampstead School)

“Thank you very much for coming to Penboyr School. It was an amazing experience to play the instruments and wearing the incredible costumes. Best wishes”

     - (Primary School Pupil, Penboyr School)

”Andy! Just wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous day! I couldn't believe the quality of actual learning that went into the day! With so many children and such a lot happening, it was still amazingly educational! Children, staff and parents alike LOVED it!! And you'll be delighted to know that a child correctly named an agogo today!!! Thanks again!”
